Spalding Relief in Need Charity

The Spalding Town Husbands as the Trustees of The Spalding Relief in Need Charity make grants and loans to individuals in need resident in the Spalding area, usually in the form of buying furniture, carpets, domestic appliances and school uniforms. Following an amendment to the Charity Commission 1971 Scheme establishing (inter alia) The Spalding Relief in Need Charity the area of benefit extends to the whole of South Holland District but with preference being given to residents of the parishes of Spalding, Cowbit, Deeping St Nicholas, Pinchbeck and Weston.
Applicants are referred to the Trustees by various agencies such as the Citizens Advice and Social Services.
Upon request applicants are asked to complete the Relief in Need application form with the assistance of the Citizens Advice .
The Grant Committee comprising at least two Trustees considers the applications on a fortnightly basis and makes a decision. Demand for grants and loans always exceeds supply.
